Maximilian Hotel is a modern hotel situated just 5 minutes walk from the Old Town Square near St Agnes Convent.
They also run a hotel taxi service to and from the airport which was great and well worth doing.

Nebozizek Restaurant in Mala Strana - fabulous location overlooking Prague! Need to book in advance.
Pravda restaurant is also worth a visit but when looking at the reasonably priced menu take into consideration that they add the VAT on afterwards!
Au Gormaund coffee shop is fantastic - 2 minute walk from Old Town Square - fantastic cakes!!
