Unfortunately the chap on reception when we checked in was very rude and unhelpful. He told us that if we didn't pay £200 cash or card he wouldn't hand over the key and we couldn't stay. He told us the payment would come off our card and be refunded if we didn't use the mini bar etc - we were very annoyed as we were led to believe by the information we recieved from justonehotel.com we wouldn't have to pay on arrival for anything only when we left if we used extras. As it was another nicer chap told us when we were checking out that actually they just take a reading of the card and no payment is taken!! A lot of upset and arguing for nothing!

We walked for miles so wear comfortable shoes. The hotel is perfect for seeing all of the local sites, just 3 or 4 minutes walk into the Old Town Square which is lovely.

Top Tip
Plenty of local restaurants in easy walking distance.
CHECK restaurant prices first - some charged a 'table cover' cost which was not shown anywhere but the bill (£20) so it's not cheap.
The hotel also supply a taxi service from the airport to hotel which is excellent.

Great hotel in excellent location, well placed for old and new town. We stayed in Franz Kafka's former office, which was an unexpected bonus, albeit not the biggest room I've had.
Top Tip
Lots of good places to eat around. You need to check upfront if you want to pay for your meal by credit card - lots of restaurants only accept cash. Excellent public transport and easy transfer from airport by bus and metro.

If you are staying in Prague best to stay in the Old Town. Mercure Centre is ideally Located. If you email or phone them in advance they will pick you up at the airport. 4 people for £3 each.

Must eat in U Supa off Old Town Square. The local dish of sirloin cranberries, cream and dumplings is superb and very reasonable at £4.50.. At trip to Golden Lane in the castle is well worth a lisit and the changing of the guard at 12 noon is also good
